LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 2, at Daniel Funeral Home for Phillip “Dean” Grant, 91, Lamar, who died Saturday, April 27, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, Mo. Burial will follow in Howell (Owens) Cemetery in Lamar.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Lamar Animal Shelter, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Darla; three sons, Richard Grant, Phillip Grant and Skip Montgomery; three daughters, Tammy Grant, Kathy Vos and Shannon Hill; two sisters, Dorothy Ziehr and Elizabeth Ann Boydstun; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Newberry and one brother, Richard Grant.

Mr. Grant was born February 10, 1933 in Galesburg, Ill., to Richard Roe Grant and Bessie Irene (Baker) Grant. He married Darla Jean Dockery on Sept. 2, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mr. Grant owned and operated national and international Metal Building Manufacturing Corporations. He was the founder and former president of Southeast Steel Framing Alliance. He founded MetalCon and was the former president of the Metal Building Manufacturing Association (MBMA). He loved to play golf and cards. He loved boating at the lake, traveling, reading and watching movies.
