LAMAR- No services are planned at this time for Carl Ewell Ritter, 72, who died Saturday, April 20, 2024. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lamar.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include his sisters, Alberta Weaver and Juanita Ritter and brothers, Johnny Ritter, Kenneth Ritter and Thomas Ritter. He is also survived by his children, Victoria Lynn and Christopher Ruth and stepchildren, Trishia (Ruth) Miller and Brian James Ruth. He also had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his estranged wife Precious Ritter, five sisters and a son, Carl Ruth.

Mr. Ruth was born Nov. 5, 1951, in Kansas City, Mo., to John and Martha (Gravitt) Ritter. He worked in auto body repair, tarring roofs and other miscellaneous jobs. He also enjoyed fishing.

The junior class at Lamar High School hosted Senior Prom 2024. The event was held Saturday, April 20, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 96 Elite in Oronogo. Prior to the event, family and friends gathered to support their students as they showed off a vide variety of prom wear at the Promenade, held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Wyatt Earp Park in Lamar.

Lamar Democrat/Nadine Pattison Picnic in the Park drew several despite the rainy and stormy weather that was experienced throughout the day. Several food trucks were available to offer a wide variety of choices to those stopping by to dine. Menus from the various food trucks were listed on the Lamar City Park facebook page, along with their phone number to call for easy access. The next Picnic in the Park will be held Thursday, May 23, for both lunch and dinner, at the Lamar City Park.

Treycen Coy, son of Matthew Coy and Angie Coy, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. In his spare time Treycen likes to play football, eat, play with his brothers and sisters in his yard and mow the lawn. His favorite college team is the Oklahoma Sooners and his favorite NFL team is the Kansas City Chiefs.
