GOLDEN CITY- Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamar for Marcel Henry Fischbacher, 78, Golden City, who died Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at his home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar. A Rosary service will be held at 8 p.m., following the visitation.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son, Marcel Fischbacher, Jr. and wife Sheila, Dumas, Texas; two daughters, Tammy Rusher and husband Joe, Canyon Lake, Texas and Kim Boyd and husband Paul, Amarillo, Texas; former spouse, Margie Eddie; one brother, Joe Fischbacher; three sisters, Mary Brorman, Tillie Kline and Anita Wilhelm; eight grandchildren, Christopher Fischbacher, Corey Fischbacher, Callie Maynard, Jessica Barrows, Candice Woods, Brooke Rusher, Kameron Boyd and Colby Boyd and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister, an infant brother, one sister and two brothers.

Mr. Fischbacher was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Canyon, Texas, to Albert and Gertrude (Schwager) Fischbacher.

He was a cattleman and pig farmer in the Golden City area for the past 38 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamar. He took great pride in his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. He enjoyed working on his farms, raising cattle and pigs and had a gift for diagnosing and treating sick animals. His Catholic faith was very important to him and included a strong devotion to the rosary, which his family will always have special memories of praying with him.
