Seventeen members of the Lamar TigerSharks competed in the Joplin Invitational on July 20 and 21. This was the final swim meet of the regular Tri-State Conference season. Pictured is Assistant Coach Carmen Miller with 15-18 Girls “A” Division High Point Runner-up, Kaitlyn Davis; Assistant Coach Carmen Miller with Graham Davis, High Point Winner for 6 & Under Boys in the “B” Division and Zander Davis, who was the High Point Winner, “B” Division, for 15-18 Boys.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower. Pictured are, left to right, Lamar Bank & Trust President Pat O’Neal, Barco Drive-In Theatre fundraiser director Landin Myers and representing the Plaza/Barco and Lamar Community Betterment, Scott Kelley.
