LAMAR- Services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in California for Robert “Bob” Thomas, 86, Lamar, who died Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at Truman Healthcare, where he had been placed on July 1, after battling many years of breathing illness. He will be laid to rest alongside his family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Survivors include his brother, Richard; his nephew, Dylan; his nieces, Erin and Samantha of Glendora, Calif.; extended family, friends, neighbors and his beloved dog, Dodger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Diane and Laurie, all of California.

Mr. Thomas was born Jan. 28, 1951, to Roy and Leota Thomas in Pasadena, Calif. He was one of four siblings, two boys and two girls. He grew up loving sports and the outdoors. He was a little league coach for eight seasons in both Glendora and Covina, Calif. His favorite baseball teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels. Bob also enjoyed football, favoring the Los Angeles Rams. Some of his most enjoyed past times were camping, spending time with friends, restoring old Chevys, watching westerns, listening to blues and jazz music and relaxing with his dog.

He relocated to Missouri to work with his uncle doing demolition. He went on to work at Schreiber Bacon in Carthage and later O’Sullivan Industries of Lamar, in shipping and receiving, until it closed in 2007.
