Lamar Democrat/Chris Morrow The Lamar Lady Tigers have played a lot of very close games this fall. Tuesday was no exception, as they dropped a one-run game at home to Carthage. Lamar hosted the district tournament later in the week, falling to Holden. Look to future issues of the Democrat for a complete review of the Lady Tigers season. Here pitcher Ashland Diggs fires the ball to third baseman Sam Crossley to retire a Carthage baserunner. Also shown is Lamar's shortstop Megan Watson.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower.
