LAMAR- Services are pending with Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Cora Marlene (McMackin) Dunford, 65, Lamar, who died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Lauren Dunford, Lamar; a sister, Carla Morgan, Lamar; a brother, Tony McMackin and wife Cindy, Edgerton; two daughters, Christian Kesinger, Joplin and Shannon Nordaker, Lamar; two sons, Joshua Parcell, Lamar and Joey Parcell, Lamar; two stepdaughters, Tami Edwards and husband Art, Kansas and Jennifer Dickerson, College Station, Texas; nieces, Maria McDonald and husband Shaun, Columbia, Penn., Charla Courtney and husband James, Hazel Park, Mich. and Falon Wagner and husband Eric, Kansas City, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers and a brother-in-law, Wayland.

Mrs. Dunford was born Oct. 16, 1954, in Kansas City, Kan., to Earl and Pearl McMackin. She attended elementary school in Edgerton and then graduated from Dearborn in 1972. She had many different jobs, including housekeeping at Holiday Inn in Kansas City, Mo. and O’Sullivan Industries in Lamar, but her favorite job was being a wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

The material for the screen will be installed late next week and hopefully, after some tweaking, the Barco will open May 3.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger At the April 15 meeting of the Lamar City Council, Lamar resident Rocky McCulloch invited councilmen and the city administrator to take a tour of the pool facilities on Thursday, April 18, as Mason Banes with KC Gunite was going to do a walk through to see what repairs might entail. Several showed up to view the pools, as well as to hear possible solutions. Banes explained that he had to first find out if the damage was structural or plumbing related. Elaine McCulloch noted that hopes are to retain the outdoor lap pool and to redo the indoor pool so that it could serve as a children’s pool following the removal of the enclosure. Banes is to let the McCullochs, as well as the city, know what he would recommend and the cost it would entail.
