LOIS V. BAIRD

JASPER- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Nashville Christian Church for Lois V. Baird, 81, Jasper, who died peacefully surrounded by a multitude of family and friends on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Carthage. Burial will be at Waters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Lamar Christian Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home, Lamar.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Freeman O.R. Nursing Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Mark Baird, Jasper; two daughters, Paula Colley, Miller and Tammy Noland and husband Tom, Parsons, Kan.; one brother, Sammy Jr. Etcheson, Alba; eight grandchildren, Louis Conard, Sarah Callaway, Mary Jo Barnes, Elizabeth Colley “Susie” Colley, Rachel Colley, Stephanie Jackson, Garret Noland and Fisher Noland and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Leroy Etcheson Jr., Virgil Etcheson, Robert “Bill” Etcheson and Luther “Dutch” Etcheson; two sisters, Viola Wardlow and Martha Condon; one grandson, Greg Jackson; one great-grandson, Colton Jackson and one great-granddaughter, Viola Colley.

Mrs. Baird was born July 23, 1938, in Carthage, to LeRoy and Mary Mae (Engle) Etcheson. She married Paul Allen Baird, Jr. on June 21, 1959, in Nashville, Mo. and together they lived in numerous locations while he was stationed in the Navy.

Mrs. Baird had worked as a nurse with the Sisters of Mercy and retired from Freeman O.R. in 2018.
