PITTSBURG, Kan.- Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Apostolic Christian Faith Church in Pittsburg for Raymond Lawrence Luthi, 93, who died Sunday, March 1, 2020, after a sudden illness at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg. Burial was at Apostolic Cemetery in Lamar, Mo.

Arrangements were under the direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Mo.

Survivors include six sons, Lawrence and wife Becky, Liberal, Mo., Calvin and wife Jodi, Lamar, Mo., William and wife Kristine, Silverton, Ore., Troy and wife Vannessa, Versailles, Ky., Darwin and wife Susan, Ottawa and Leon and wife Teresa, Jasper, Mo.; four daughters, Loretta Moser and husband Rick, Larchwood, Iowa, Vera Frieden and husband Rex, Lamar, Mo., Kristine Huber and husband Michael, Jasper, Mo. and Karla Rutledge, Jasper, Mo.; 54 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one brother, Reuben Luthi and wife Chrystol, Washington, Ill.; two sisters, Wilma Kuntz and husband Clyde, Gridley, Ill. and Lillian Mogler and husband Howard, Alvord, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Della Luthi, Alice Wulf, Jean Knobloch, Vera Knobloch and Phyllis Knobloch and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Lillie Luthi; two wives; daughter, Valorie Luthi; daughter-in-law, Sandra Luthi; great-granddaughter, Lillie McManis; three brothers, Albert, Harold and Donald and a sister, Violet Wulf.

Mr. Luthi was born Nov. 9, 1926, in Stevens County, Minn., to William and Minnie (Schlupp). He attended Country School Dist. No. 16 through the eighth grade. He repented and was baptized in the Apostolic Christian Church in 1950 in Morris, Minn. In later years he was a member of the Apostolic Christian Faith Church.

In 1952 he was drafted into the army during the Korean War. He served as an army medic transport until discharged in 1954. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Wulf on May 1, 1955, in Lester, Iowa. They farmed in Minnesota until they moved their family to Jasper, Mo. in 1977, where he continued farming. She died June 3, 1994. He married Violet Knobloch on April 21, 1996, in Lester, Iowa. She died Jan. 18, 2020. He resided at Comfort Care Homes in Pittsburg.
