CLYDE MARION HININGER

JASPER-Clyde Marion Hininger, 88 years old, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Joplin, following a long illness.

He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Anna Kathryn (Roper) Hininger; five daughters, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren that will miss him greatly.

Clyde was born on January 23, 1927 to his parents, Clarence Marion Hininger and Carrie (Keltner) Hininger, on the Keltner family homeplace, three miles northwest of Jasper, in southern Barton County.

His bravery in the Navy and as a soldier in World War II will always make his family proud. His services sent him to Great Lakes, Illinios; Corpus Cristi, Texas and Buckner Bay, Okinawa (Japan). He received the Victory Medal World War II, American Area Ribbon and Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon.

Clyde married Kathryn on November 24, 1955. Clyde spent his entire working life on the farm and in the house he was raised in. He milked Holstein cows and was highly respected in the area as a dairyman and herdsman. He received the Farm Family of the Year in 1968 from the City of Jasper. He was a hard working dairy farmer on Petticoat Lane while he and Kathryn were raising their daughters Della, Carrie, Cathy, Julie and Angela. Clyde was a life-long resident of Jasper and a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper.

Clyde loved taking long country drives and road trips with no destination. He loved International Tractors and being outside. He was kind hearted and never knew a stranger. The family always knew to have an extra place at the table set for whomever Clyde brought home, including neighbors or hired hands.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn. His five daughters and their husbands. Della and Russell Selvey, Carrie and Clint Smith, Cathy and Danny Probert, Julie and Randy Schau, Angela and Tommy Arehart. His 12 grandchildren, Bryce (Shari) Probert; Megan Selvey and Ross (Natasha) Selvey; Alexis (Tim) Jeffers, Lisa Smith; Cayla and Alyvia Probert; Beau, Patrick, and Jacob Schau; Laura and Caleb Arehart. And his eight great grandchildren; Brodie and Boston Probert, Rustin Selvey, Joshua Sanders, Cameron and Rylee Nesvold, Hannah and Blaine Jeffers. He is also survived by his two sisters Lucille Wolf and Nadine Jones, and his nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his sister Laura Hininger, and his brother-in-law Linden Wolf.

Services for Clyde will be held at the First Baptist Church in Jasper on Saturday, April 18, 2015. The family will see people at 1 p.m. for the visitation and the funeral following at 2 p.m. His burial will be at The Paradise Cemetery, south of Jasper.

The Weng Funeral Chapel of Jasper has been entrusted with arrangements and Pastor Colby Bridges of the First Baptist Church in Jasper will be officiating the funeral service.
