CHALMETTE, La.- A memorial service will be scheduled through Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo., at a future date to be determined, for Ronald Jay Besendorfer, 52, who died Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in a motorcycle accident.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s research, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his two daughters, Karlie and Madelyne Besendorfer, both of Kansas City; his father, Marvin Besendorfer and wife Cristina; his mother, Ellen Zellmer; siblings, Dan and wife Carla, Jim and wife Tana, Larry and wife Lisa, Dee and wife Mary, Adam and Charity Buchanan and husband Ryan and Adrienne Lezina, her daughters, Olivia an Dru and her grandson, Christos.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Besendorfer.

Mr. Besendorfer was born Oct. 16, 1967, in Boise, Idaho, to Marvin and Ellen (Guthrie) Besendorfer. He had a zest for life and cherished his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and sports. He coached football and track and taught social studies in Nevada, Holden, Carthage, Independence and Reeds Spring, Mo. Later he worked for Farm Bureau, owned Butler’s Deer Processing and was a crane operator.

He was a 1986 graduate of Lamar High School and a 1990 graduate of Missouri Southern. He married Angie (Phipps) Besendorfer Martin on July 12, 1986. They had two children, Karlie and Madelyne Besendorfer. He spent the last several years with Adrienne Lezina, where they lived in Chalmette.
