For Teacher Appreciation Day, the Lamar SubDebs served teachers and staff at Lamar High School and the Lamar Career & Technical Center with drinks from Sonic and The Grind during the student pick-up and drop off of school items on May 5. Lamar High School 2024 Prom King Cade Moore and Prom Queen Abigail Diggs were crowned Saturday, April 20. Pictures of prom participants would be appreciated and as many as possible will appear in the May 1 edition of the Lamar Democrat. Send them to info@lamardemocrat.com.

Gunner Miller, son of Sharron Miller, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Gunner plays baseball and likes playing video games in his spare time. His favorite subject is Math.

Students of the week

Shiloh Wilkinson, daughter of TJ and Melissa Wilkinson, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Shiloh enjoys drawing and reading in her spare time. She plans on playing volleyball or basketball next year. Her favorite subjects are Social Studies and Reading, because both teachers make it a lot of fun while they teach.
