LAMAR- Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Lamar United Methodist Church, for William Michael "Mike" Berry, 78, Lamar, who died Sunday, May 24, 2020, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage. Burial will follow in Lake Cemetery.

There will be limited seating available at the service because of distancing rules.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to Lamar United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife Cherlyn of nearly 56 years; a son, Brad Berry and wife Laurie, Little Rock, Ark; a daughter, Bethany Meads and husband Brad, Nixa; a sister, Lynn Divine and husband Keith, Lamar and three grandchildren, Mark Meads, Michael Meads and Annie Berry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Jean Berry.

Mr. Berry was born May 25, 1941, in Scotts Bluff, Neb. He graduated from Lamar High School in the class of 1959 and received a bachelor’s degree from PSU. He married Cherlyn Barbara McVey on July 25, 1964, in Kirkwood and together they raised two children.

He was a coach and teacher in Salem before moving back to Lamar in 1968, where he became co-owner of Berry-Moore Furniture.
