LIBERAL- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar for Dixie Lee (Nading) Hampton, 76, Liberal, who died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, surrounded by family.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Iantha Community Center.

Survivors include her children, Stephanie Williams, Christina Dolley and husband Brent, Becky Engels and husband Brian, Stacey Prier and husband Doug, Mike Hampton and wife Amy and Ron Hampton and wife Michelle; brothers, Lloyd Nading and wife Nancy, Clifford Nading and wife Bekah, Chester Nading and wife Cindy, Jerry Nading and wife Treva and Kelly Nading and wife Nancy; a sister, Billie Alford; grandchildren, Case, Carlie, Scott, Cash, Swayzie, Chelsie, Vance, Finley, Logan, Trax, Cole, Brady, Wyatt, Sabrina, Matt, Jerica, Amber, Sara, Samantha, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Erica, Haley, Amanda, Cody and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Ronald Hampton and a sister, Debbie Littlejohn.

Mrs. Hampton was born Feb. 11, 1944, in Chetopa, Kan., to Lloyd Nading and Nadine Harbinson. She grew up in Chetopa, where she attended school before moving to Wichita, Kan. She attended Modern School of Cosmetology, graduating in 1969 and going on to have a successful career as a cosmetologist for 46 years. She opened her salon, Petite Hair Fashions, with Jerri Lynn Workman in 1972. She spent 43 years running her salon, through which she not only styled hair but built lasting friendships.

She married Ronald Hampton on Aug. 14, 1970.

Mrs. Hampton is remembered by her family as fiery, protective and honest. She faced a lot of struggles throughout her life and always fought through the obstacles with faith.
