Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A good turnout enjoyed the Bi-Annual Township Breakfast that was held on Wednesday, April 14, 8 a.m., at the Thiebaud Auditorium meeting room in Lamar.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The Barton County Community Foundation featured Vintage Vegas on Saturday evening, April 13, at Thiebaud Auditorium in Lamar. During the festivities, Elaine Davis, left, president of Lamar Community Betterment, was awarded $1M from a private charitable fund, in order to purchase the old Redneck building at 1705 Gulf. The building will be used jointly by the newly formed Lamar YMCA and the Lamar R-1 School. Watch for more information in the April 24 edition of the Democrat. BCCF board member Nancy Curless, right, presented Davis with the check, along with a $5,000 check from the foundation.
