COVID update

February 14, 2022

Barton County Health Department Administrator Joel Dermott stated, “Valentine’s Day brings some good news with it as our numbers continue to improve.” According to Dermott, “The case count fell dramatically as the Omicron outbreak appears to be burning itself across the state.” He added that there are still plenty of sick folks and stated that the flu strain this year is a particularly nasty one.

Hopes are that as the weather continues to warm, with the worst of winter behind, that numbers should continue to improve.

Total confirmed COVID cases in Barton County sits a 2,211 with 546 probable cases, 36 active, 38 confirmed deaths, eight probable deaths, 2,675 recovered and 26 new cases in the last seven days.
