TRIXIE VOORHEES

LAMAR- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church of Lamar for Trixie Jane Voorhees, 84, Lamar, who died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the funeral home or through the online donations link to Jacob’s Ladder Care Services Inc.

Survivors include her sisters, Claudine Hathcock, Branson and Pat Sorrels, Grove, Okla.; a brother, Lee Roy Voorhees and wife Anna, Lamar and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ms. Voorhees was born March 5, 1938, in Lamar, to Roy and Marie (Hayward) Voorhees. She attended Newport School. She worked for 53 years at the Blue Top, where she made amazing pies and hot rolls that were so good that they brought people from miles away. She was a talented crafter who enjoyed creating needlepoint projects and quilts to give to her family. Her latest project, which she just completed, was making pillowcases for each of her great nieces and nephews.
