SHELDON-Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home for Barbara Ann Davis, 84, Sheldon, who died Friday, April 24, 2015, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. Burial will be in Iantha Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, James William Altop, Hobbs, N.M. and Michael Davis and wife Melodie, Nevada, Mo.; three daughters, Linda Burns and husband Bob, Sheldon, Dianna Risner and husband Paul, Jasper, Ohio and Hazel Young and husband Jim, Lamar; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Joann Chambers; three brothers, Lester, Dave and Claude Green; two sisters, Lunita Comstock and Twila Cass and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Nichols.

Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 21, 1930, to Claude and Elma (Patton) Green and attended Bakers Grove Country School. She had worked as a waitress and in the paint department at O'Sullivan Industries for 13 years, but her most important job was as a homemaker. She attended the Community Christ Church in Lamar and enjoyed working word puzzles and watching her soap operas, including her favorite, The Young & The Restless.

She married Jack A. Davis on Aug. 16, 1952, at Bentonville, Ark. He died Sept. 2, 2013.
