The sixth grade Lamar Middle School Spelling Bee was held recently, with the winner being Jacob Morrison, who will represent LMS at the Joplin Globe Spelling Bee on March 21. Those participating in the spelling bee were, back row, left to right, Dalton Schlichting, Quinton Keith, Gunnar Dillon, Rae Crossley, Kyleigh Talbott; front row, left to right, Maddie Stevens, Quenlyn Shaffer, Jacob Morrison, Trinite Augusta, Julia Stettler, Mason Roe.

Shiloh Wilkinson, daughter of TJ and Melissa Wilkinson, is the sixth grade Lamar Middle School Student of the Week. Shiloh enjoys drawing and reading in her spare time. She plans on playing volleyball or basketball next year. Her favorite subjects are Social Studies and Reading, because both teachers make it a lot of fun while they teach.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower.
