Mrs. Buzzard was born in Barton County to Grace (Purvis) and Walter Ison. She grew up in Barton County and was a 1957 graduate of Liberal High School, where she was an active member of the band. At 15 she met the love of her life, Harvey Buzzard. Her best friend was dating his brother and talked her into a double date. They married October 6, 1957. Over the years she worked in several places. She worked in the print shop with her husband, babysat and worked many years, until retirement, at O’Sullivan Industries.
She was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in her yard. She strived for and was awarded Yard of Month several times. She enjoyed traveling, visiting Hawaii and the US from coast to coast, finding local treasures like the Bridges of Madison County and the tulip fields in Pella, Iowa. She loved her family and the time that she got to spend with them and she loved “that stupid cat”.
