Taffner signs to play volleyball at Stephens College

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger Kelsey Taffner signed to play volleyball at Stephens College in Columbia on Wednesday, April 13. Taffner, who plans to major in fashion merchandising and management, said she chose Stephens College because they had the best program for her major and that simply enough, she liked the coach. Kelsey has been playing volleyball for the past six years. She is the daughter of Kevin and Shelby Taffner. The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A total of $3600 was raised at the car and jeep show held Saturday, April 13, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Lamar Christian Church Parking lot, with proceeds to benefit the new Barco Drive-In screen tower. Pictured are, left to right, Lamar Bank & Trust President Pat O’Neal, Barco Drive-In Theatre fundraiser director Landin Myers and representing the Plaza/Barco and Lamar Community Betterment, Scott Kelley.
