LAMAR-A gathering to celebrate the life of Robert Maurice Raines Jr., 54, Lamar, who died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Daniel Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Raines, Jr. family, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl; his mother, Loretta Penner, Lamar; three sisters, Victoria Mossack, Robin Spencer and Bryan Stewart and Mary McWilliams, Lamar; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins; a sister-in-law, Shelly Gibbs and Willie Hastings and a brother-in-law, Jeff Brockman and wife Becky.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert M. Raines Sr. and a sister, Maxine Grayson.

Mr. Raines was born July 1, 1961, at Jefferson City, to Robert Maurice Raines Sr. and Loretta Louise (Bemboom) Raines. He attended Stockton High School and was a driver for Murphy Farms for 13 years. He had also worked at the Nevada Walmart before becoming disabled. He loved NASCAR and dirt track racing, as well as the outdoors and fishing.

He married Sheryl Brockman at Lamar on April 10, 2001.
