PLEASANTON, Kan.-A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the First Christian Church in Pleasanton for Pauline Lucinda Woody, 96, Pleasanton, who died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at her home. Her wishes were to be cremated and buried in Lake Cemetery, Lamar, Mo., with her family.
The family suggests memorials to the cemetery and donations may be mailed to Lake Cemetery, 201 W. 10th St., Lamar, MO 64759.
Arrangements are under the direction of Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, Pleasant Chapel.
Survivors include one sister, Nan Collins, Lovington, N.M. and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Merle, Freeman, Wayne, William, Arvan and Robert and four sisters, Viola, Martha, Arvie and Alice.
Mrs. Woody was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Calumet, Okla., to George W. and Lucinda (Harrison) Woody. During her formative years she lived in Lamar, Mo. and always considered Lamar as home. At the age of 13 she moved with her family to Bloomington, Ill. After graduating from high school, she attended Indianapolis (IN) Business College for two years. In 1954 she moved to Beverly Hills, Calif., where she made her home for the next 60 years. She worked in the movie industry as an accountant. She was also extremely active politically with the Republican party. In May of 2014 she moved to Pleasanton due to her declining health.
