Lamar golf team finishes second in district action

Members of the Lamar High School golf team finished second in Class 2 District 6 action last week at Karen Kjar Memorial Golf Course in Buffalo. The team advances to the sectional round which was to be played Monday, weather permitting. They include: from left, Kip Roland, Isaiah Cleveland, Nathan McArthur, Jeremy Marti, Dylan Maberry and coach Dan Eckstein. The top finishers earned all district honors as individuals and they include Maberry, who finished third in the field of 54. Roland and McArthur took fifth and ninth respectively. Look for a feature story over the golf team in an upcoming issue of the Democrat.

The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State.
