FRONTENAC, Kan.-A memorial tribute will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo., for Dale Lee White, 62, Frontenac, who died at his home early Monday morning, May 23, 2016, surrounded by family. The family will receive friends following the service, until 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Barton County Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa, of the home; two daughters, Brandi Lee and husband Gabe, Frontenac and Ashia Chapman and husband Brent, Joplin, Mo.; six sons, Kevin White and wife Kadi, Lamar, Mo., Michael White, Markell White, Jamie White and Justin White and wife Sami, all of Frontenac and Shawn White, Lamar, Mo.; a sister, Janeene Pierce and husband Bill, Carthage, Mo. and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve White.

Mr. White was born July 10, 1953, at Lamar, Mo., to Jesse and Corrine (Hagins) White. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1971, where he had excelled in football, basketball and baseball. His interest in sports continued throughout his life and he especially loved any sport that involved a ball and his children.

He married Teresa Ison on Oct. 18, 1972, and their lives revolved around their eight children. In later years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling across the country, making precious memories through time spent together. He had worked in mechanical maintenance at Dickey Clay in Pittsburg, Kan., as well as O'Sullivan Industries and Epoch in Lamar, Mo., before retiring due to ill health.
