Mike and Decema Clements, Lamar, announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Clements, to Taylor Schulz, son of Rob and Tracy Schulz, Wentzville. Grandparents of the bride-elect are Don Clements and the late Emily Clements and Gene and Jonnie Snelson and the late Norma Snelson. Grandparents of the prospective bridegroom are Kermit McCutchan and the late Mardean McCutchan and Jim and Pat Schulz. The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of Lamar High School. The wedding has been set for October 1, in Republic.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger The Lamar Elks Lodge No. 2800 recently donated $1,000 to the Famous Missouri Veterans Monument, to be erected at the Barton County Memorial Park, located on the corner of 2nd and Gulf, in Lamar. The monument will recognize veterans that made a significant difference while serving in the armed services.
