LORENE “SPARKIE” ROBINSON

LAMAR-Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church for Lorene “Sparkie” Robinson, 88, Lamar, who died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at Truman Healthcare. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a sister, Marguerite Bailey, Auburn, Calif.; a son, David Pierson, Lamar; a daughter, Karen Crockett and husband Jerry, Lamar; grandchildren, Stacy Webb, Mike Crockett, Amy Engelage, Anne Crockett, Gerry Dean Pierson and Lacey Pierson; great-grandchildren, Ashley Thieman, Gretchen and Isaac Engelage, Megan Miller and McKinney and McKade Crockett and great-great-granddaughters, Maya and Maddie Miller.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Schmitz; two brothers, Leonard Lee and Truman Dumolt and a nephew who was reared as a brother, Jimmy Lee.

Mrs. Robinson was born Aug. 7, 1928, to Ollie and Myrtle (Mason) Dumolt. She was a beautician most of her life, wintering in Florida and curling hair. Early in her career as a beautician she represented the RUE cosmetics company and traveled to New York. She was also a licensed realtor, a park employee at Yellowstone National Park and enjoyed traveling the United States and the world. She particularly enjoyed cruising the Nile and reuniting with her heritage in France. A lover of life, she will be missed.

She married Emory Dean Robinson on Nov. 17, 1957. He died in January of 1969.
