PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.-A Memorial Mass in celebration of the life of Martha McKay Tooley, 77, Port Charlotte, who died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, after she sustained a traumatic head injury on September 10, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct 3, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Please join the family directly following the mass for a reception.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

Survivors include her husband, Patrick, and children, Beth Ann, Mark and John Allen; two stepdaughters, Susan and Shannon and grandchildren Michael, Adam, Thomas, Phillip, William and step grandchildren Chase, Max and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Allene; a brother, Elbert and a grandson, Dennis.

Mrs. Tooley was born in Salina, Kan., to Josephine and Allen McKay and grew up in Lamar, Missouri. She attended the University of Arkansas and earned a degree in business. After getting married and having children, she worked her entire adult career at Walgreens, beginning as a store manager and was then promoted to district manager.

In 1997 she married the love of her life, Patrick Tooley, and soon after took an early retirement, built her dream home and than spent the last 19 years traveling the world with her husband.
