LAMAR-A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Golden City for Dorothy A. Purdy, 98, Lamar, who died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Purdy, Lamar, Debra Koehn, Joplin and Barbara Hobbs, Carthage; three grandchildren, Roger Hobbs, Steven Hobbs and Krista Koehn; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Carl Stansberry, Lamar.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo and a grandson, Gary Hobbs.

Mrs. Purdy was born March 22, 1918, in Golden City, to Edmond and Roberta (Hawkins) Stansberry. She attended and graduated from Golden City schools.

She married Leo Purdy on April 19, 1939, in Lamar, in a ceremony performed by W.C. “Preach” Haddock. She was a manager of Southern Meadow Apartments and was a homemaker and caregiver for Companion Care.

She was of the Baptist faith and considered Lockwood Baptist Church her home church.
