JASPER- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jasper First Baptist Church for Loyal Lee Berryhill, 90, Jasper, who died Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at his home. Burial will follow in Waters Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church or Waters Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 68 years, Velma Berryhill; one daughter, Elene Fitchpatrick; one son, Carl Berryhill and wife Debbie; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd Berryhill; one sister, Reba Ball and a son-in-law, Walter Powell.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Powell, on Dec. 22, 2016; a brother, two sisters and a son-in-law, Ben Fitchpatrick.

Mr. Berryhill was born Oct. 26, 1926, to N.L. And Lois (Williams) Berryhill. He married Velma May Smith on Feb. 26, 1949 and they lived on a farm north of Jasper, where they reared their three children.

Mr. Berryhill was a lifelong farmer, a World War II veteran, a Deacon of Jasper First Baptist Church for over 50 years, a road grader for the Northfork Township for over 50 years, a third-generation treasurer for the Waters Cemetery Association and a 20-year member of AWANA. He was also a founding member of Jasper Area Ambulance Service, serving 21 years and a member of Jasper VFW Post No. 6415. He and his wife Velma were faithful to visit anyone they knew that was in the hospital.
