ALICE “CLAUDINE” BURNS

NEVADA- Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada for Claudine Burns, 66, Nevada, who died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. Burial will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vernon County Cancer Relief, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband Jack; daughter Jacquelin Haner and husband Tim, Nevada and their daughters, Kimberly Schieffer and husband Kyle and Makayla Haner; a son, Danny Lee Burns, Nevada and his son Jacob; a sister, Mary Lou Periman, Nevada and a niece, Louann Williams, Joplin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Gene Miller.

Mrs. Burns was born March 24, 1950, in Lamar, to Claude William and Dorothy Alice (Welch) Miller. She was reared on a farm near Sheldon and was a 1968 graduate of Sheldon High School. She worked for Professional Home Improvement in Nevada for many years until 2009. She loved to sew and make clothes for her family, helping her granddaughter with sewing projects in 4-H. She loved fishing and most of all being with her family.

She married Jack R. Burns on June 4, 1968, in Sheldon.
