LAMAR- A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Lake Cemetery, for Kathleen Mae (William) Horton, 85, Lamar, who died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Visitation will be held prior to the graveside service, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include a son, Mark Horton, Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Vickie Bilke and husband David, Joplin; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Horton, Lamar; two sisters, her twin, Noraleen Trout, Oakdale, Calif. and Barbara Robertson, Lamar; one brother, Earl Lyle Williams and wife Dennie, Blue Springs; five granddaughters, Bobbi Anne Jeffries, Lamar, Kimberly Long and husband David, Baxter Springs, Kan., Amanda Mitchell and husband Philip, Joplin, Chandra Perry and husband Lynn, Alvin, Texas and Ashley Baugh and husband Scott, Olathe, Kan.; three grandsons, James Horton and wife Miranda, Kansas City, Kan., Nicholas Horton and wife Phaedra, Jefferson, Ind. and Aaron Horton, Olathe, Kan.; 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bobby Joe Horton; sons, Doyle Horton and Bobby Joe Horton Jr.; a daughter, Marilyn Ann Horton; two daughter-in-laws, Maureen Horton and Brenda Horton; a grandson, Damian Horton; a great-granddaughter, Kirsten Jeffries and two brothers-in-law, Darrell Robertson and Bob Trout.

Mrs. Horton was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Flat Rock, Mich., to Earl and Nova Levatious (Whisler) Williams. The Williams family moved from Michigan to Lamar in November 1945. She married Bobby Joe Horton on April 27, 1947, in Lamar. She and her husband managed the Horton's 5&10 stores in four different locations in Missouri. They purchased Horton's 5&10 in Lamar from his father and mother, J.D. and Hazel Horton in 1968 and operated there for 26 years until their retirement in 1994.

She was a member of the Lamar United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and cooking for her family.
