LAMAR- A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at the Lamar United Methodist Church, for Marjorie Sue “Mame” Castle, 95, Lamar, who died Monday, March 6, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include her four children, Bill Castle and wife Suzan, Cincinnati, Ohio, Carla Scott and husband Robert, Lamar, Lynn Hasson and husband Jeff, Springfield and Scott Castle and wife Debbie, Lamar; nine grandchildren, Chelsey Scott and wife Stacy, Joshua Scott and wife Lori, Alex Castle and wife Jennifer, Ben Castle and wife Jaime, Elizabeth Hasson and husband Andy, Rebekah Johnson and husband Chad, Alexandra Thompson and husband Josh, Casey Castle and Erin Rivero and husband Lance and 10 great-grandchildren, Henry Castle, Luciana Castle, Elliott Johnson, Finnegan Castle, Chloe Carlstrom, Dominic Scott, Audrey Johnson, Julieta Scott, Carter Scott and Thea Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl.

Mrs. Castle was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Jefferson City, to Calvin Speedy and Susan (Wells) Speedy Stillwell and spent most of her early life growing up in Tuscumbia. She married Carl Castle on Sept. 10, 1943. She was a longtime resident of Lamar, where she made her home with her husband after World War II and reared their family. She was a member of P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution, The Antique Club and Lamar United Methodist Church. She was an avid antique collector and loved to cook. One of her favorite places to be was in her kitchen and she is known for her famous “Mame” burgers. She loved her cats and most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
