LAMAR- Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Sandra Kay “Sandy” Ladd, 69, Lamar, who died Thursday, April 13, 2017, in Springfield. Pastor Robb Hodson officiated, with burial following in Lake Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Ladd; a daughter, Shannon Nicole Crutcher; a son, Shane Colburn Ladd; six grandchildren, Sydney Ladd Cunningham, Oletha Hope Crutcher, Savannah Reese Ladd, Evangelena Noel Ladd, Patrick O'Brien Ladd and Kennedy Ruth Ladd; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Reign Cunningham and Braxton Reed Royster and two sisters, Ione Tedrick and Marlene Fleming.

She was preceded in death by a son, Shawn O'Brien Ladd; two sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Ladd was born July 20, 1947, to Clarence “Red” and Alta Irene Pruett. She attended high school in Bethalto, Ill. Afterwards, she followed her passion by attending cosmetology school in Alton, Ill. and graduating. She pursued her career as a hairdresser, always making others around her feel beautiful.

Soon after she met the love of her life, Sam Ladd, and they married July 20, 1967, in Alton, Ill. It wasn't long before they began to grow their family and had a daughter, Shannon and soon after a son, Shane. In 1973 the family packed up and moved to Lamar, where they had their third child, Shawn.

Besides building a home for her family and treasuring her grandchildren, she enjoyed golfing, crafting, sewing and making the best Swedish pancakes around. She was a member of the Arcola Christian Church and she enjoyed reading her Bible nightly.
