JASPER- A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jasper Christian Church for Penni Lynne Welch, 57, Jasper, who died Friday, June 9, 2017, at her home.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Four State Cremation, Joplin.

Survivors include her husband, Pete Welch, of the home; her mother, Billie Ann Percy, Jasper; two daughters, Jennie Dalton and husband Lester, Jasper and Heather Meyer and husband Devon, Joplin; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Balster and wife Christie, Northfield, Minn. and Steven Balster and wife Donna, Jasper; a sister, Pat McCowan, Woodlinville, Wash. and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Percy.

Mrs. Welch was born Nov. 16, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo., to Tom and Billie Ann (Cook) Percy. She had worked for Schreiber Foods and later at Barton County Memorial Hospital as a surgical technician prior to retirement. She was a member at both the First Christian Church of Carthage and the Church for Imperfect People (CHIPs) in Lamar. She and her husband also held regular season tickets for the Kansas City Chiefs.

She married Pete Welch on Aug. 11, 1990, at the Jasper Christian Church.
