BUD MCCULLEY

LAMAR- A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery for Bud R. McCulley, 83, Lamar, who died Friday morning, June 16, 2017, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gloria; two sons, Bud Mickel McCulley and wife Cathy, Sevierville, Tenn. and Ron McCulley and wife Toni, Lamar; a brother, Butch McCulley and wife Suzie, Lamar; a brother-in-law, Steve Stevens, Lamar; three sisters, Mabel Jones, Reeds, Ida May Kozoil, Joplin and Janie Freeman, Lamar; four grandchildren, Andrea Mitchelle and husband James, Madison, Wisc., Tabitha McCulley, Lamar, Tori Bello, Fayetteville, Tenn. and Britney Johnson and husband Kory, Joplin; seven grandchildren, Angel, Jasmine, Alex, Justin, Adryan, Lake, Breckyn and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob McCulley and an infant brother and five sisters, Flossie Tuck, Pearl McMackin, Barbara McCulley, Blanch Stevens and an infant sister.

Mr. McCulley was born March 19, 1934, in the Newport community of Barton County, to James and Cora (Hayward) McCulley. He married Gloria Morey on Dec. 31, 1954, and they made their home and reared their two sons in Lamar. In addition to farming and raising cattle, he had worked at King Press in Joplin for several years before opening and operating Bud & Sons Tire Shop. After retiring, he restored many antique automobiles and enjoyed the fellowship of car show friends.
