KRISTY BLANCHARD

LAMAR- A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at St. James Cemetery, north of Milford, for Kristy Blanchard, 55, Lamar, who died Sunday morning, June 18, 2017. Don Crockett will officiated.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include a brother, Stan Blanchard and wife Sheila, Sheldon; a sister, Kathy Blanchard, Sheldon; a niece, Anita Orahood and a nephew, Chris Jones.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Ms. Blanchard was born Jan. 4, 1962, in Lamar, to Irvin and Betty (Owen) Blanchard. She was a 1981 graduate of Lamar High School. She was self-employed as a homemaker and bookkeeper at the family business. She was quiet, but liked to keep busy and she excelled in making good grades in school. She was active in FFA and her herd of sheep was her project.

She was talented like her mother, doing embroidery work and large pieces of intricate cross-stitch. She made many quilts and tended to large flower and vegetable gardens. She would can the vegetables from her garden for her family. She was not one to sit and do nothing, she enjoyed painting, putting together puzzles and playing cards (pitch). Her love of her 100 head of sheep and love of any animal was strong enough that she considered them all her pets. She loved her family and enjoyed and looked forward to their annual family reunions. She will be missed by her family and friends.
