LAMAR- A memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Fern Merrie Brown, 77, Lamar, who died peacefully at her home in Lamar on Friday, July 28, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey Brown, of the home; two sons, Wayne Seaton and wife Janice, Lamar and Charles Seaton and wife Christy, Lamar; three daughters, Vickie Clark, Lamar, Verna Pennell and husband Robert, Lamar and Veronica Tucker and husband David, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Mayes; a sister, Nellie Ladwig; a son, Dean Brown and three grandchildren, Heather, Corey and Garth.

Mrs. Brown was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Greenfield, to William and Opal Mays. She married Harvey Brown on Aug. 8, 1958, in Lamar. She was artistic and was a floral designer. She also loved making jewelry to sell and for family and friends. She had worked for many years for June and Lloyd Strong at the Lamar Greenhouse and Florist and later at Strong’s Corner Florist. She had also worked at O’Sullivan Industries and Big Smith.
