FRED MARTI

HANNIBAL- Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar for Fred Jay Marti, 64, Hannibal, who died Tuesday night, Nov. 28, 2017, at his home. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Committal and burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, southwest of Lamar.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Loving Care Hospice, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include his parents, Dale and Corrine Marti, Lamar; a son, Andy Marti and wife Misty, Lamar; a daughter, Jo Ann Wentland and husband Jon, Carl Junction; three brothers, Larry Marti and wife Judy, Lamar, Butch Marti and wife Deidra, Jasper and Kevin Marti and wife Kathy, Lamar; four sisters, Karel Anliker and husband Wendell, Morton, Ill., Terri Duincan and husband Jim, Lamar, Mary Probert and husband Jim, Chouteau, Okla. and Schelli Marti, Oronogo; five grandchildren, Kaitlin and Delaney Wentland, Cooper, Drew and Hannidy Marti and special extended family, Brandi and Kevin Lionberger and their children, Ryan and Caleb, of Hannibal.

Mr. Marti was born Nov. 20, 1953, in Lamar, to Dale and Corrine (Stewart) Marti. He was a 1971 graduate of Liberal High School and had lived in Hannibal for the past 25 years. His affinity for nature and the river led him to a career in landscaping and he took great pride in his work at the Mark Twain Cave and Campground. He enjoyed sports and followed the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals.
