Mrs. Williamson was born March 2, 1927, at Kansas City, Mo., to James and Anna Marie (Wagner) Murty. After high school graduation she attended U.M.K.C. for two years and was active in a college sorority. On February 4, 1950, she married Paul Williamson and they made their home in Kansas City until moving to Lamar in 1966 to own and operate Chiles-Williamson Funeral Home. After selling the funeral home in 1977, she worked in the law office of Richard Scott before beginning a 20 year career in the purchasing department of O'Sullivan Industries. Retiring in 1998, she had more time to devote to her family, the church and her many interests.

She was a member of PCCW (Parish Council of Catholic Women) and served as St. Mary's Parish Council treasurer for more than 20 years. Enjoying competition, she bowled on three leagues, held the title of Club Champion Golfer at Lamar Country Club for five years and was an avid card player. She loved to travel and the highlights of her four trips to Europe included playing golf at St. Andrews and receiving a blessing from St. Pope John Paul II. She enjoyed the fellowship of the O'Sullivan Retired Employees group and the friendship of the many who referred to her by her Old Bat nickname.
