LLOYD WINTER

CARTHAGE- Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Lloyd Edward Winter, 80, Carthage, who died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Truman Healthcare in Lamar. Burial was in Paradise Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Lon Winter and wife Kim, Oklahoma and Len Winter and wife Emily, Texas; two grandsons; two granddaughters and his first wife and mother of his sons, Elizabeth.

Mr. Winter was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Jasper, to William and Neva (Gardner) Winter. He graduated from Jasper High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pittsburg State University. He was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Force Reserves, serving from 1962 to 1968.

He moved back to the Jasper area after his retirement in 2000. He had worked in personnel safety for the Georgia Pacific Company in Quanah, Texas. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Lamar.
