Members of the First Christian Church in Lamar kicked off their day of service by making much needed repairs at the Good Samaritan Shop, where fire that destroyed the shed also singed the south wall. Although the shop itself was insured, there was still a deductible so the help was definitely appreciated. The men worked on the outside of the building, while women from the church helped with various tasks indoors. The church plans to hold a day of service monthly and also mentioned that Sunday, April 29, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a community wide day of service, with various volunteers participating from area churches.
