LAMAR-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary in Joplin for Sharon Jean Fields, 73, Lamar, who went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, surrounded by her family. A grandson, Tim Winnett, will officiate. Burial will be at the Liberal City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oronogo, in care of the mortuary.

Survivors include her daughter, Katryn Randi Rion and husband Donnie, Carl Junction; grandsons, Tim Winnett and wife Lisa, Oronogo, John Winnett and friend Brandi, Carl Junction and Josh Winnett and friend Breanna, Pacific; her stepchildren, James Rion and wife Stephanie and Meaghan Rion, both of Joplin and a sister, Sandra LaFuente, Columbia, Tenn.

Mrs. Fields was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Wyandotte, to Arnold and Mildred (Gatchell) Timmer. She attended Bently High School. After moving to Missouri she lived in Liberal for many years, then later moved to Lamar where she has resided for nearly the last 30 years.

While in Liberal she worked as a pharmacy assistant for Jones Drug Store. After moving to Lamar she worked as a housekeeper for Barton County Memorial Hospital, where she was affectionately known as Buffy because of her passion to make the floors shine in the hallways. She retired in 2013 after 22 years of service for the hospital. She was a member of the Christian Church of Liberal and Lamar.

She married Preston Fields in Liberal and he preceded her in death on Sept. 8, 2001.
