BETTY LOUISE BUDD
JASPER- Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Waters Cemetery, northwest of Jasper, for Betty Louise Budd, 86, formerly of Jasper, who died Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Arrangements are under the direction of Weng Funeral Chapel.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include her children, Merle Rex Budd, Jr. and wife Rita, Neosho, Violet Kollmeyer and husband Murl, Greenfield, Kay Budd and husband Larry, Jasper and Hope Budd, Arkansas and siblings, Riley Brown, Carl Junction, Eva Jean, Wichita, Kan. and Molly Ann and Maritta Pearl.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Phillip C. Budd; two brothers, Neil and Thomas Jr. and two sisters, Marie and Ella Mae.
Mrs. Budd was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Carl Junction, to Thomas Jefferson Brown and Edna Zelia Currier. She was baptized a Christian as a youth. While still a teenager, she came to Jasper to work at Judy’s Cafe and on Dec. 7, 1950, she married Merle Rex “Buck” Budd.
She was an avid quilter, loved trying new craft projects and also enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping, but most of all she enjoyed her family and time spent around her kitchen table with them. She was well known for her cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls with chicken and noodles. She retired from Big Smith, where she was a seamstress.
