LAMAR- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home for Mabel Lucille (Winningham) Thomas, 97, Lamar, who died Friday, May 11, 2018, while surrounded by her children and family. Rev. John Davidson and Pastor Robb Hodson will officiate. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

Survivors include her children, Virginia and Tom Wilson, Newburg, NY, Mary Thomas, of the home, Roy and Pat Thomas, Carthage, Joyce and John Davidson, Wichita, Kan. and Jean and Rusty Scott, Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two children, Junior and Otis.

Mrs. Thomas was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Jerico Springs. She was a homemaker and her greatest joy was cooking for her family, who always enjoyed her wonderful meals. She also loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hearing everything about them. Some of her grandkids nicknamed her “Grandmas Pete”, while others called her “Grandma Tommie”. She loved gardening and grew beautiful flowers every year.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lamar.

She married Noel Otis Thomas on Jan. 28, 1936. He died Sept. 15, 1980.
