OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.-Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Konantz Warden Funeral Home in Lamar, Mo. for Denzelle Eilene McGinley, 94, Oklahoma City, who died Saturday, July 11, 2015. Burial will be at Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor's choice or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, in care of the funeral home.

Survivors include a daughter, Daisy McGinley, Alexandria, Va.; a son, Gary McGinley and wife Cheryl, Oklahoma City; a grandson, Michael McGinley and wife Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Jaide and Grehson, Moore, Okla., and a sister, Maureen Rogers, Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. McGinley was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Irwin, Mo., to W.T. And Nettie (Nance) Franklin. She lived with her Uncle Lee and Aunt Daisy Denny from age nine and was formally adopted as an adult. She attended Bakers Grove Country School and Lamar High School, graduating in 1939. She then graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with a BA in Education. She lived most of her life in Lamar, Mo.

In 1946 she married Charles Edgar McGinley, who preceded her in death. They built the Courtesy Court Motel in Lamar and she operated it for 32 years. Then she worked as office manager at the Lamar Clinic for Dr. Thomas Carroll and later for the Barton County Historical Society. In June 2010, she moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to her family.

She will be remembered for her service and devotion to the Order of Eastern Star. During her 50 plus years she was a Worthy Matron, District Deputy Grand Matron, Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls and secretary of the Mt. Hope chapter in Lamar.
