GREENVILLE, Texas- Friends and family in the Missouri area may pay their respects at a Celebration of Life service at Logues Lake in Lamar on Saturday, June 16, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., for Melinda Kay Bell Richey, 55, Greenville, who died Jan. 31, 2018.

Melinda “Mel” Richey was born May 19, 1962, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Frank and Marcella (Price) Bell. She attended school in Azle and Lamar, Mo., where she graduated in 1980. She married John Richey in 1985 and they lived in the Mesquite and Greenville areas. She worked at Panasonic Industrial Devices for 21 years.

She loved being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed entertaining the kids and she loved camping. She loved her motorcycle rides with her husband, but her newest love was their airplane.

The family believes that if there isn’t already a purple room in heaven, she will surely be trying to get one started. She loved anything and everything that was purple.

She had a large blended family and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly, including family from Iowa she affectionately called the “children of the corn”.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Walter “Daddy” Mason.

Survivors include her husband, John Richey of Greenville; her mother, Marcella Mason, Azle; her father, Frank Bell, Lamar; a stepmother, Sharon Masterson and husband Jesse, Lamar; a sister, Becky Bethel and husband Billy, Azle; a brother, Tye Bell and wife Jolynn, Ft. Worth; a brother, Gary Mason and wife Marsha, Chico and a brother, Steve Mason and wife Traci, Trophy Club.
