GREENFIELD- Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Greenfield Funeral Chapel for Fred Warren Taylor, 82, Greenfield, who died Saturday, June 30, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. Burial will be in Kings Point Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Taylor of the home; three sons, Dan Peters and Shanna Slack, Everton, Butch Taylor, Springfield and Michael Peters, Everton; four daughters, Kathy Foust and husband Jason, Everton, Margaret Taylor, Greenfield, Lisa Hay and husband John, New Zealand and Gretchen Stolc and husband Steve, Lamar; two sisters, Dixie Crouch, South Greenfield and Mary Raley, Robertsdale, Ala.; 10 grandchildren Brian Davis, Ankeny, Iowa, Nathan Peters, Republic, Dustin Peters, Greenfield, Tiffany George, Oronogo, Kaleb Rook Lamar, Brandon Peters, Springfield, Bobby Raby, Willard, Rick Crabtree, Greenfield, Lauren Hay, New Zealand and Georgia Hay, New Zealand; 12 great-grandchildren, Drew Gasgill, Ankeny, Iowa, Parker Davis, Ankeny, Iowa, Kaisen Davis, Ankeny, Iowa, Lily Patterson, Lee’s Summit, Connor Patterson, Lees’s Summit, Rory Rook, Lamar, Gunner George, Oronogo, Gabby George, Oronogo, Logan Peters, Republic, Koberly Peters, Republic, Evelyn Grace Peters, Republic and Dwayne Pecor, Republic and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Taylor and two sisters, Lavern Spielman and Audrey Dorsett.

Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Lockwood, to Charles W. and Mary F. (Burrow) Taylor. He was a graduate of Lockwood High School and served his country in the United States Army. He married Ruby J. Peters on June 30, 1975, in Miami, Okla. He retired from working on the Railroad Bridge Gang. He was a very talented musician. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church and the Baptist Men’s Association.
