LAMAR- Private services will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family for Kenneth Samuel Ladd, Jr., 74, Lamar, who lost his battle with COPD in Joplin on Friday, July 13, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Konantz Warden Funeral Home.

Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Ladd Crutcher and husband Buster, Joplin; his son, Shane Ladd, Lamar; grandchildren, Sydney Crutcher Cunningham and husband Drew, Ozark, Hope Crutcher Parks and husband Orey, Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Savannah Ladd, Angel Ladd, Patrick Ladd and Kennedy Ladd and great-grandchildren, Zoey Reign Cunningham and Braxton Reid Royster.

He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Shawn and his wife, Sandy, who he loved dearly. She died on July 13, 2017.

Mr. Ladd was born June 24, 1944, in East Alton, Ill., to Kenneth Samuel Ladd Sr. and Ruby Adaline (Myers) Ladd. He grew up in East Alton, Ill. He was an excellent student, athlete, marksman and a natural public speaker. After a short time at St. Louis University, he and his wife Sandy started their family. He worked odd jobs while still attending university. The family later moved to Centralia, Ill., where he was newly employed and where he and wife Sandy continued to grow a family.

The family’s next move was to Lamar, where he accepted an offer to work as a salesman and then migrated to purchasing for O’Sullivan Industries. He remained with them for 32 years.

He was an avid sportsman and was fond of fishing, hunting and golf.
