TigerSharks swim at Cici’s Pizza Invitational

The Lamar TigerSharks participated in the Cici’s Pizza Invitational in Branson on July 14 and 15. Mycah Beth Reed, Cameron Sturgell and Carson Sturgell all scored points for the swim team. TigerSharks alum Kaelyn Sturgell took over coaching duties for the small band of swimmers during this two-day competition.

Lamar Tigers dominate Jasper
The SW Select basketball team ended their season by winning the Kansas State Championship with a record of 21-1 in three tournaments, plus Kansas State. Sixth grade girls earn Kansas State Championship
Lockwood High School cheerleaders Kalsee Garoutte, Rachel Baugh and Mekenzi Weimer recently received Academic All-State honors. To receive Academic All-State for cheer, one must be a varsity cheerleader, have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.5, be in the top 20 percent of their class and be a current senior, junior or sophomore.

Lamar Democrat/Melody Metzger A check in the amount of $12,500 from the Arvest Foundation was presented to the Barton County Sheriff’s Department to be used towards the purchase of an aerial drone to be used by local municipal departments, as well as neighboring county sheriff’s offices.
